    Where are you?

Now that it looks probable that Myers Park will travel to Alexander Central for the first round of the states, it would be good to go ahead and get directions. I must confess I don't know where you are. How about some detailed directions for us? Thanks alot.

And, BTW, please take it easy on our city boys when they come up there to play you!

Taken from the Alexander Central High School website:

    From Statesville…
Take the Hwy. 64-90 exit off of I-40. Travel west on Hwy. 64-90 for about 20 miles. As you approach town, you will pass under Hwy. 16. Go approximately one mile to a traffic light at Liledoun Rd. Turn right at this light. You will pass the ACHS tennis courts, the Alexander Co. Board of Education building, and the south entrance to ACHS on your left. Continue on to the next light. At this light, you will see the ACHS softball field on the right. To reach the baseball field, turn left at the light. The field is ahead on the left.

    Hope this helps!

ACFAN....this "old fart" will disagree with you....Coach Gainey, former T'ville coach and scout for ChiSox, had so darn good ball teams, John and Richard Gwaltney were 1 of the best double play combos in the state, Raeford, John , and "Squirrel" Thomas were great ball players, Comer was a mediocre catcher at Stoney Point, NC, i believe Hiddenite used to regularly take it to SP...speaking of SP, Herman Hammer was probably the best player to come from there, Hammer pitched for the Taylorsville Tigers managed by Robert St. Clair.....hmmm St. Clair anybody remember former Reds Jim St. Clair or Jim Robinette all from T'ville...The true "Big O", Harold Odom had some awesome teams..A.Y. Yoder, Heath Bost, and Darin, ( Crash 20), Hayes, all professional draftees, all awesome ball players...this team has not played a ranked team since Providence in a non-conference game on 3/06....once the NW4A is over ACHS and Coach Comer will play some ball teams who are ranked...before we say "greatest" or "best ever" let's see what Comer can do...

yes this team is good, very good, i've had the priviledge of coaching, or having a team most of these guys have played on...recreation ball, fall ball, high school, or legion ball and it has been a pleasure to have such talented kids...

not to take anything away from the Bumgarner kid, who pitched awesome, and South Caldwell team,.... ACHS "lesser" teams never lost to S.C. and former S.C. teams were better than this years edition, as proven by their won-loss record..btw, congradulations to Russel Reid for becoming S.C.'s all time winning pitcher..

somebody please tell me why Corbett never played vs South Caldwell  and don't tell me "senior night"...why was Johnson lifted  with 2 on and 0 outs in the bottom of the 7th..please tell me why only "pinch runner" Smith moved up on a wild pitch and Kerley stayed at 1st....where's the 1st base Coach?? why was Corbett left in the "on deck" circle?

this team is talented enough to go all the way, is their coach?

Big A..i told you all year...

Freaaaakkkkiiiinnnnn UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!!!!!!!1 One loss one sorry measely loss! Are ya ll serious!!!! LET S BLAME IT ALLLLLLL ON THE COACH!!!! It is his JOB not YOURS! Whatever he did he did it on a hunch...sometimes they work sometimes they don't! If they do he is the greatest thing since gold if NOT let s hang him at high noon the next day! Sounds as tho some folk think if not KNOW they can do a better job! Again, it figures! What 20/21/-1 and just loss to a fairly decent team I think... cause i have coached against em!!!! :nono: :nono: :nono:

    watch out

I would be pretty worried about facing us after we lost a game that we could have won very easily... i know my boys will recover and use this only as fuel to shoot them to a state championship... still behind u in it all AC and keep it up... we bringing home the gold!

i certainly hope ACHS does bring home the gold...these kids are very capable...they probably have the best opportunity to bring home the gold since the '92 team...they are also on a mission...guys please don't loose your tempers and don't get "sucker punched" this year...

"O" , i'm not even gonna try to explain fundamental baseball to you, except to ask why you would bench your starting 3bsmen who has started all season, (DUUUGH), who else makes the lineup and changes? the trainer? how bout ball boy? school board members? principal? AD?....my advice to you is that you better try to get Coach Hignight signed to a long term contract at Providence...remember he coach legion ball at T'ville and ACHS is his alumn... he was an assistant to Coach Hardee at Watauga in the NW4A, where's his home?...T'ville likes hometown coaches.... :laugh1: :laugh1: :laugh1:

i would also suggest you read the whole post :nono: :nono:

Playme is exactly right. The coach of AC will screw them before the year is over just like he does every year. if you don't believe me just think back to the team that was in the 3rd or 4th round of the playoffs versus Butler. Comer makes stupid desicions sometimes which cost good ball teams games. just hope he don't do it again for this season. once again playme you are exactly right

    Holla Back!!! Hey buddy...

it was about 3 years ago that you got hung out at 3b at McDowell and he brought in a cold thrower from RF and left the pitcher in the bull pen wasn't it?

3 years ago he blew an Easter tourney against Newton Conover with wholesale changes in the 6th, right?

some of these "old farts" remember this bull...

on the brighter side he would make a great politicial by the way he plays politics...

the kids have done an outstanding job this year despite him...
