Alot better weather today. AC might be able to get their game into today. AC heads up the mtn for Watuaga on Friday. Should be a barn burner.

ACHS defeated Freedom tonight to move to 11-0 overall. It was an interesting game with the Cougars barely knocking off the Patriots 9-8 in extra innings. Matt Payne blasted two homers bringing his season total to five. Bryan Corbett knocked in Brandon Kinniard in the 8th to seal the deal.

    AC Baseball

Alexander Central did not bring their best ball to the park against Freedom. Freedom brought them a good game and scared AC. Payne continued to stroke the baseball with 2 homeruns in this contest. Alexander Central has rescheduled the Watuaga game to Monday due to snow on the mountain. Tuesday, Alexander Central plays South Caldwell. Alexander Central will face a tough week in conference next week.

    Matt Payne pitched 6 1/3 innings with 9 K's.

    AC vs. South Caldwell

    Alexander Central - 5
    South Caldwell - 0

Brian Corbett tossed the win for the Cougars on Tuesday night at South Caldwell. Corbett allowed the Spartans to only 2 hits. Brandon Kinnaird closed the ballgame with the save. Kinniard started the scoring for the Cougars with a solo Homerun in the second. The AC bats didnt get rolling until the 7th innings when the Cougars pushed across 3 runs to topple the Spartans 5-0.

The 12-0 Cougars have finished the first round of conference play.
