AC also played Hickory and Watagua and St. Stephens who were all ranked at one point and time.

Mudcat, you are right about the NW4A not being as strong as usual. But, you still will have 2 quality teams (AC/Watauga) that will make some noise in the States. You will then have 2 other teams that may upset a quality team that may overlook them. St.Stephens/Hickory/North Forsyth/Watauga/South Caldwell/Providence at one time have all been ranked. I believe that says enough for the caliber of players that this team has!

I was just looking at the current rankings and Providence was the only one I saw. Didn't notice any of the others you mentioned in there, Again, congrats on the ranking.

Providence and North Forsyth were both at one time ranked higher than ACHS. Watauga appeared once in the top ten before going back down. I'm not too sure about St. Stephens and Hickory though.

ACHS deserves the ranking and should have been ranked in the top ten last year....these players will make any....ANY... coach look good....these kids are that darn good... :applause: :applause: :applause:

Comers coaching hasn't won these games...these kids are that darn good and deserve all the accolades....

while Payne and Kinnard have already signed...somebody better latch on to Teague, ( upper 80's on a stalker)...throws the same pitches Payne does ..but from a different angle and he is just as fast...Johnson may not have have the strongest arm for a catcher but he has a quick release...he has picked more than 1 off 1st....Hall is a hustler, bats from the left and always gives 110%...Hefner is just as smooth at ss as he is at 1st....knows how to hit behind a runner....Orren is a quality of, bats from the left and hustles, hustles,...can also catch...Corbett (junior) is only going to get better....somebody better talk to him before he goes back to Iredell...

FP Super...ACHS losing record a couple years ago was because of bone head coaching...like warming a pitcher up in the bull pen with a 1 run lead and bringing in a "cold " relief pitcher from LF..the first pitch went for a 2 run homer...a "thrower" who is warm is much better than a "thrower" who is cold...

Playme, good to hear from you partner...This board has missed you..I would add Dustin Kerley into the names that Playme threw out..You get a player with good speed, good glove, power for his size, and a lot of hustle and drive..He always is working hard in the cages and more importantly in the classroom..:applause: :applause: :applause: :xyzthumbs

ACHS had been playing some good baseball of late and most definately deserves the number one ranking regardless of critisism. That is easily stated by the big 0 in the loss column. Way to go Cougars.
