    Alexander Central started out slow in Asheville yesterday. They put up 2 runs in the first inning pushing Scott Hall across the plate. They did not score again until the fourth adding another run to the scoreboard. Brandon Kinnaird came into relief with a shaky outing giving up one run. Alexander Central is improves their record to 18-0.

    AC vs. Hickory

    Alexander Central - 5
    Hickory - 4

    W - Calvin Teague

    Alexander Central played sluggish throughout yesterday in Hickory. However, if you were not fortunate enough to see this slugfest, I feel sorry for you. In the first 2 contest between these two teams, AC was the victor by a wide margin. AC started out slow with the sticks on Wednesday against Hickory. Alexander Central placed Jordan Hefner on the mound for the first few innings of the game. He was pulled in the 3rd and replaced by Calvin Teague. Late in the ballgame the Cougars had the lead when the Hickory bats knocked in a run to tie the game. The AC Cougars failed to push any runs across in the 7th with the game at a 4-4 stand still going into the 8th. Each team stranded runners each inning until the 11th. The Cougars pushed across a run in the top of the 11th on a pass ball to take the lead. Teague closed the game for the Cougars with 8 innings of relief work.

    The Cougars next contest is at Taylorsville against the East Burke Cavaliers.

    Hahaha...it was a good one. Hickory out-hit AC but the Cougars still found a way to pull it out and improve to 19-0!

    ???? I think so! They deserve it having their best squad in a long time perhaps only 2nd to the team that lost to Providence what three years ago? AND if it wasn t for one bad inning they probably would stillll be playing GO AC!!!!! :applause: :applause: :applause:

    If you want to get technical, this is the most wins ever by an Alexander Central varsity baseball team...and it's not even the end of the season.

    Sorry if I am a little too harsh. But I know that AC coaches, players, and fans do not appreciate the joke.
