    CVAC?

    I saw the CVAC basefall all-conference in the Hickory paper about 3 weeks ago, but nothing on softball or was it so small that I just missed it?

    Top Secret....lol

    From what I have heard it is top secret til the Sports Banquets for each High School in the CVAC or until the playoffs are over. I do know a few coaches have told their girls but no news yet at Newton Conover til tonight at the Spring sports banquet. Not sure what the big secret is but good luck to all.

    i cant remember our conference ever releasing the full list until everyone in the conference was through with that season (baseball/sb, w/e) so with crest playing sb i dont expect to see a full big south list - though baseball could be released.
    cheeze???? am i off here?????

    Just curious... why don't you recognize these girls at the conference tournament? Seems like a great time to do it since they will almost all be there to meet each other and share an experience together. We don't have a conference tournament but we release it the paper the day after voting.

    our rule is that no publishing until the last team is out of the running for playoffs, but i know that everyone who makes all conference is told during the sports banquets and i heard that a local newspaper printed the list last week (not the gazette, heck, they dont print anything much about softball).

    I would love to see more emphasis on celebrating the achievements of the players. Conference MVP, school MVP, all-conference, various awards, etc., earned by the girls. An article or so in the local news makes for a pretty good souvenir in the years to come. Something to show the grandchildren.

    Of course, with some of the negativity I've read I can see why some don't risk putting their players up for recognition that would make a good memory for them. Why risk making someone feel good?

    I know--that was a negative paragraph. Consider it a positive negative if you will.

    All conference players were recognized at half time during the conference tournament championship game for basketball. The girls obviously knew ahead of time because they had family and friends in attendance. Why is softball different? Maybe we can get the girls together at a TB tournament and a least take their picture together!!!
