chapman setzer and morris all should have been on there , but with the late season coaching change , the coach didn`t get the papers in in time. coach head took over on 4-25 and the deadline was 5-4. he didnt learn of this until the season was over. another coach turned poarch and laxton in for ac and without his help ac would have not had any one make anything. with all that was going on with ac imo coach head ,coach hayes and coach setzer all did a great job with the team and to get them to the 4th round was a treat to see!!! great job coaches and ladies!!!!! instead of putting them down boggywoggy, you should give them a pat on the back.

 

All District vs All Observer

I agree with you Cheeze105. If anyone actually knows the process in which the girls who made the All Conference, All District, All Observer, All Piedmont teams, PLEASE tell us. I am happy & proud of the girls that I know that made it this year and especially happy for the girls that have gotten little or no recongnition during the school year that made it. It is a honor for them, let them enjoy it. Let's congratulate the girls and not make statements on here that will hurt someone's feelings.

 

All-Conference/ All-District

I know how the All-District teams from the NCFSCA were selected, and I know how the All-Conference team from the Rocky River 2A Conference in which my team plays was selected, and in a couple of weeks I will know how the All-State Team from the NCFSCA was selected, but that is about it.

 

DD's the best thing since sliced bread and didn't get recognized? Coach so-and-so didn't bother to submit nominations? The system's not perfect?

Lets just do away with all of it. No all conference, no all state, no all nothing. That way moms and dads don't get pi_ _ed off and there's nothing post on TBR.

My goodness let it go

I remember as a child having my team finish second to another team for 4 straight years (their ace was Brad Clontz who went on to pitch for the Braves) and since we finished 2nd my coach picked the second all-star team to come from our county. Now the first place coach picked about 8 of his guys and the 3 or 4 next best players in the league (not counting my team) and then my coach took 8 or 9 off our team and the next 2 or 3 guys in the league. Bias has always been a part of these selection processes. i'm sure there are numerous young ladies that because of lack of caring from the coach or from just plain ignorance of the process, are not being recognized for their ability or accomplishments. I am truly sorry for these young ladies. However, griping and moaning and groaning on this board or any other accompolishes nothing except to degrade the young ladies who did get their name in the hat. Everyone who is anyone in North Carolina softball knows the names of the ladies who are the best of the best and for durn sure the college coaches will see it no matter whether their names are in the paper. While i'm sure it has been said that i use this board for shameless self promotion for my kids and i have, however i have never put anyone else down to do it. I have the upmost respect for anyone who works hard and tries hard to improve themselves at this or any other game or facet of life and that goes even for people in this sport i don't particularly care for. Stand up and applaud the kids that made these district teams and all-whatever. i'm sure none of you would want your dds or players even questioning why they made this or did that. Have the same respect for the people participating now (players AND coaches). This is NOT about teams or high schools or rivalries, it's about young ladies and a game.
