    • Was 9-2 with 0.85 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 54 innings. Threw a perfect game. Excellent fastball.

    Whoever picks these teams does not even have a clue. Jarod Faggart All Piedmont catcher & Ryan Query All Piedmont designated hitter??? I think that this should be the other way around. Faggart was the DH for NW. He only caught sparingly. Query on the other hand caught every nite for Kannapolis.

    You have to remember that this award is picked by the staff of The Observer. They get feedback from coaches, but they make the selections. Perhaps The Insider can help us out

    THe stats are the question here. And, Yes they are turned in by the coaches. the North Meck stats are a joke. Nuff said!

    Most of us here know that HS stats are creative at best. But it's hard to argue the selections. All the guys are deserving even if the positions listed for them are unique.

    In one sense, I hate awards...there are always some deserving kids missed. But it is great that the ones selected are noticed.

    Ryan Query, Houston Summers and (unheralded) Dallas Tarleton are the three best catchers (Sr) in the State...period!
