Heard from a player that he had been selected to the 4A All State Team.

    Anyone seen the listing(s)?

    Aa state team

I have seen the so-called selections. Totally bogus and completely lacks credibility. Looks like names were selected by a group of Daddy-Coaches. Not worth anyone's time to read.:toilet::toilet::toilet::toilet::toilet:

Title should have been "all state" team

    But still toilet worthy.

If it is the true All-Stae then it is picked by High School coaches in the association. Many/most are players who were selected as POY (player/pitcher of year) in their respective conferences. Again, this is by coachs' votes - all based on NUMBERS.

I can see where there might be a question or two about a guy on/not on, but what's the "daddy coaches" comment? In my conference, not one coach has a son in the league - closest is 9 years old. In the other major conference in my area, one coach had a son playing in that league, but he is a D-1 player - 6'2", power, upper 80s velo, and signed.

Could you at least give a number of how many players made it whose dad's are varsity coaches?

Oh yeh - and where's the list posted?

I don't know where the info is coming from. The NCBCA makes the selections and the announcement. At this point it has not been published.

    Braves:

I work w/ a player who was contacted and told he made the 4A All State Team and thought it would be published soon afterward. I always love to see who is honored at any level especially in baseball w/ the outstanding talent we have in NC. I guess we'll just have to wait and see when the honorees are posted.

    Paidmydues:

With all due respect, I believe your comment is way off base. No process is perfect whether it is be preparing lineups, selecting All-Conference and All-State players, officiating or recruiting. But, to say "I have seen the so-called selections. Totally bogus and completely lacks credibility. Looks like names were selected by a group of Daddy-Coaches. Not worth anyone's time to read" is completely disrespectful of the process and the players who have worked so hard to obtain this great honor. Some may have been overlooked but I bet when the list comes out every name one it will be attending college on a baseball scholarship not to mention those who were drafted.

When the all State teams are published I salute every First Team, Second Team, and Honorable mention player, their parents, and their coaches for their outstanding accomplishment.

Hear-Hear 2Seamer, I completely agree. Historically, All State is made up of mostly POY's. Hard to argue with those selections. I guess we'll have to wait until they're published to see if the same pattern was followed.
