Yes...had a couple days of rain outs....Kannapolis wins the series with a mastepiece of a pitching perfomance from Garrett Sherrill....2-0

As I was leaving the Concord officals were talking about an appeal...

If Concord appeal is not successful

Kannapolis will play against Stanly County at home Friday night to begin round 2.

Maybe Legion should re-think the innings rule and make it the number of pitches thrown (but that would really open up a can of appeals). I watched this kid the other night throw 160 pitches...in only 6 innings. When they trudged him out to throw the 7th inning, I couldn't take it any longer and said something to the coach about how many pitches he had thrown. To the coach's credit, he immediately removed him.

I've seen a kid throw 72 pitches in 9 innings this year and now...160 in 6 innings.

Good grief…the Area III Southern Division has been going through a lot of turmoil, anguish and drama during the American legion season this year?!? Hate it, as always, for the players?!?

If you went by pitch count?

It would be another whole can of worms. I can guarantee there would be disputed pitch counts.

Kesse for Concord pitched over 140 pitches wednesday in 9 innings after throwing 59 pitches monday night in four innings. That's over 200 pitches and 13 innings of work in 48 hours.

And Keesee said tonight that he could have pitched three or four innings if they needed him. The kid is as strong as a horse. But you are right that is a lot of pitches. Is there an inning limit in high school? When I played back in the 70s, Steve Streater at Sylvia-Webster pitched nearly every inning all the way to the state championship series.
