K- Town I don't remember the scores. I know Greensboro swept them.

I only saw the game in Jamestown. Chad Baker pitched a gem that night but he gave up two homers to Dave Sappelt who crushed the ball every time he was at the plate. They have been known for their bats this season. I know they put a hurting on Eastern Randolph last series.

Thanks Wossa......I've heard Burlington really has a hitting team.I'm sure it will be a different story on monday nite when Kannapolis visits Burlington.

***The 2 winners of these 2 series will both qualify for the state tournament***

KtownYankee,,, yes Burlington can most definitely hit the ball and score runs in "bunches". What you witnessed last night was simply a great pitching performance by Blake Ketner.

The big star tonight for Greensboro was Chad Baker who went 5-5 with a 2B and 5 RBIs including a huge 3 run double in the 5th to put Greensboro in the lead for good. Chad also pitched the ninth for a save. I assume is arm still isn't ready to start but it was good to see him out there especially striking out Waller to end the game. It looks like Baker and Matt Kepley who had a couple of hits and made some great plays in center liked playing on there next seasons home field at Catawba.

Greensboro broke it open with 6 more in the 6th then hung on for the win. Charlie Gamble, Matt Kepley, Andrew Mespelt had multiple hit games for Greensboro.

Rowan County lost a run in the 3rd on a weird double play. Both RD ( VillageIdiot) and I thought the run should have counted but the umps waved it off. Wherever RD goes there are controversial double plays :laugh1:

Great to meet you tonight RD. Let me know if you decide to make the drive to Jamestown.

I'm new to this board, but It would be really cool to see Greensboro and Kannapolis battle it out once again, seeing as how Post 53 was swept by Kannapolis last year in the playoffs. Who knows!

    Same here wossa........

33 hits between both clubs kept us on the edge of our seats for sure. Whatta great venue for baseball they have at Catawba College and I'm sure the Catawba coachess were impressed with those Greensboro bats that will be on their roster next season. I think that the move to lift Cauble for the lefty kinda backfired for Rowan. Greensboro appears to be very well coached imo and has the talent to go with it. Should they advance along with Kannapolis...me and Wossa gonna watch a few. I wont be making the trip to Ragsdale tonite, gots some chickens to burn.
