Good point. Though, it could favor the losing team to face the team that beat them in the Area finals in the state tournament. It could make them more hungry coming off a series loss. I still see what you mean though about wanting to enter the state tournament on a roll.

Both teams just could not hit the ball tonight. To sum it up it was a pitchers game.

Let me tell you guys from the inside that this was a great final series. It may have looked lopsided from the 3-1 aspect but one little tidbit most people will overlook is Shelby outscored Caldwell 16-15. Shelby can flat out hit the baseball and are going to be a force come next week.

Daniel Folk, you are a great pitcher and I wish you and your team the best of luck next week in the tournament. If the two teams cross paths next week it will be another honor and this time, it might just be for a trip to Dothan Alabama. The only thing you need to remember is that Caldwell's players and staff read ThisBoardRocks too. :imagestor

Caldwell will take a hit this year on losing players, five of their nine starters will be gone.....Russell Reid, TJ Jenkins, Alex Fairweather, Elliott Collins, Matt Braswell, Brandon York. One good note is they have a good crop coming up. It will be hard to replace these guys.
