Taylorsville pounded out 16 hits, at least seven of them for extra bases, and broke this one open in the sixth. Kelly McLain went the distance, throwing at least two-thirds curveballs. After Charlotte stranded runners at second and third in the third and fourth, McLain sailed along the rest of the way.

Taylorsville leads the series 1-0, game 2 at Taylorsville tomorrow.
