    Kannapolis- 11 over Mocksville- 5

    WP- Robbie Gurley (3-0)

Great job Robbie against a very good Mocksville team!!! Kannapolis moves to 12-3 in the league (14-5 overall) and holds onto 2nd place in the league with the last report Rowan County losing to Lexington tonight which would give Ktown 2nd place alone. "Nuther big game tomorrow night at home when first place Stanly County (9-2) comes to town. Kannapolis won the first meeting earlier this season against Stanly 2-1, but tomorrow promises to be a great game whenever these 2 teams meet. Not sure who all had Ktown hits tonight but it was a great overall team effort.

    Keep swingin guys...

My apologies TJ. I promised to help you out on this one but you beat me to it.

THE BIG NEWS IN THIS ONE: No Home Runs for Kannapolis!
The only home run was in the 3rd when Mocksville's John Diachenko greeted Gurley with a lead-off solo shot.

    K-Town Hitting:
A real team effort - 8 of Post 501's 9 starters had at least 1 hit, 1 RBI and 1 run scored.

Ryan Wildrick had 2 sac flys and a double in the left field corner (3 RBIs)
Jake Faggart hit a screamer in the gap to drive in his brother in the 2nd.
Andrew Lawing had 2 hits and a blast that the M-town 3rd baseman couldn't handle that could have been scored a hit (2 runs scored on that one)

    Pitching:
    Robby Gurley
    - 12 Ks in 7 innings (A wider-than-normal strike zone; both teams combined for 27 ks)
Brett Honeycutt - 2 innings of scoreless relief.

    Tonight:
Kannapolis (Garrett Sherrill) vs. 1st-place Stanly County

NPC,,, thanks for helping me out with the highlights, at my age I'm starting to only focus on the things that are really important like final scores, suppertime, etc.

On Friday night Durham Post 7 beat Roxboro Post 138 12-9.

Seth Austin lead the way for Post 138 with 4 hits needing only the single to hit for the cycle. He had 4 rbi's.
Ryan Daniel had 2 hits in 4 at bats with 2 rbi's and Charles Lane was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles.

Post 138 was terrible in the starting pitching and the defense.

Post 138 is now 5-7 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

Post 138 ay Durham Post 7 on Sunday night.
