    Kannapolis- 9 over South Rowan - 0

    Blake Ketner improved his pitching record to 5-0 with a 5-hit shutout tonight against an inspired South Rowan team who just came off a big win against Rowan County the night before. Garrett Sherrill had 3 hits to lead Ktown while Jerod Faggart hit his 10th homerun of the season and Jay Hosack became the 12th different Ktown player to hit a homerun this summer.

    With these 2 homeruns tonight, Kannapolis tied the Kannapolis Legion team homerun record of 36 which was set by the 2004 Ktown club which was 32-10 and finished 3rd in the state. This 2006 team has hit their 36 homeruns in only 22 games so far.

    Kannapolis improves to 15-3 in the league (17-5 overall) and plays again at home Friday against Statesville.

    Was wondering if anyone knows if Rowan County got to play Montgomery tonight? Montgomery forfeited to Mocksville last night and was fined $250 and couldn't play again until they paid the fine.

    Stanly Co 3 Lexington 2

    Tough game to lose...Pitcher's duel all the way. Lenoir Rhyne signee Andrew Hunt did a great job, giving up 2 early runs & a late solo shot. Unfortunately Stanly's 2 pitchers were a run better. I'm not certain of their names, but both kids (I think) are also headed to LR.

    Stanly has the tiebreaker over Lex, so 2nd place is firmly in their hands.

    I was under the impression that once kids get grown like yours, a decent night's sleep is possible. So, what in the world are you doing at your computer at 4:30 in the morning?

    Niner, when you get so old that you have one foot in the grave, you're afraid to sleep for fear you won't wake up.

    It's either that....or because Marcy kicked me out of the bed......again....
