The play in question was initially ruled an out by the field ump who was in position to make the call. The first baseman stretched towards the right field fence to make the catch.....away from any view by the home plate ump. It was HIS call to make and his alone. But after an inquiry by the SR head coach, the field ump asked for conference with the home plate ump and they then called the runner safe. It is not known if the home plate ump reversed the call or the field ump changed his mind, like he has been known to do in the past. Yes that was me and it was one of the worst, chicken**** calls I've seen in my 46 years. I can take a bad call but dont go around being wishy-washy. Umps like that dont get invited back, they can stay away as far as I'm concerned. I hope yall enjoyed the "free" entertainment anyways.

No, I wasnt there... but when i first heard about it i was wondering if that would have been you .
I figured that the field ump asked for the plate ump for help..

Waited through rain delay for 2 hours, un-tarped the field, then the umps saw lightening, game called.

    No date set for make-up.

Good job 337. I missed the game last night, but I hear Josh Barker went the distance, pitching a complete game 3-hitter. Post 336 is really getting some good pitching from Scott Brewer, Jordan Cudney, Jeremy Mathis, Tom Girdwood and now Barker. And I understand TJ Worrell will make his Legion pitching debut for Charlotte at Simms Park tonight against Gastonia.

Did you get rained out last night? That was quite a storm that came through about 6:00.

On Monday night at Chapel Hill High School Roxboro Post 138 defeated Chapel Hill Post 6 16-9. Ryan Daniel pitched 6 innings to get the win. Derek Allen, Ryan Daniel, And Charles Lane had three hits apiece. Lane also homered. Will Watlington and Cody Jones each had two hits. Roxboro had 15 hits, committed 7 errors. We were very sloppy defensively. Roxboro Post 138 is now 4-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play. Post 138 travels to Northern Durham tonight for a 7:00 game.
