Village Idiot,,,, yes there were some scratching of heads in Kannapolis last night with WHATEVER that was we did in Concord...

Anyway, the ship is righted with a big 7-3 win over Rowan County tonight in Ktown. Nick Daniels pitched a complete game for Ktown in his first full 9 inning stint. For those that don't know Nick, he had a super year as the #2 pitcher at NW Cabarrus and was 10-2 winning Game 2 of the state championship series for the Trojans. Looks like he's picked right up where he left off and undoubtedly gives the Kannapolis legion team 3 bonafide starters (along with Sherrill and Ketner) who can go the distance and shut strong teams down. With the loss of some key bats to showcase teams, it appears that pitching will definitely be our strongpoint as the legion regular season winds down and the playoffs near.

Offensively, Kannapolis scored all 7 runs in the first 3 innings off of Rowan starter Keegan Linza who's pretty tough himself.

Big game tomorrow with Stanly County coming to town. Mr.Ketner will get the ball against a team (Stanly) who has been killing people. Former Kannapolis assistant Marko Little has done a super job at Stanly, as we all knew he would. Should be a great game tomorrow in Ktown, probably another pitcher's duel as Stanly has several great pitchers themselves.

Charlotte (4-3) won in an ugly one. Only one of Denver's 8 runs was earned, and many of Charlotte's runs were unearned as well. TJ Worrell (1-0) got the win in his first start for Post 262.

    Kannapolis-5 over Stanly County-1

    WP- Blake Ketner
    LP- Bradley Holt

    HR- Jeremiah Worthington (Kann)

WOW, its amazing how much this Kannapolis legion team got stronger simply by adding 2 NW Cabarrus pitchers like Nick Daniels and Blake Ketner. After leading NW Cabarrus to the state high school 3A finals, now Daniels beat Rowan County last night and tonight Ketner beat Area III Southern League leader Stanly County. Bradley Holt pitched strong for Stanly for 6+ innings, but Ketner showed once again why he's simply one of the strongest big-game pitchers in this area. Stanly County came into this game after beating everyone else by large margins up to this point, and Ketner responded by throwing a 2-hitter. Blake walked maybe 2 or 3, but had a ton of strikeouts. Stanly only had 2 baserunners through the first 8 innings.

    BIGTIME performance by BK...

Concord Post 51 vs. South Rowan

Concord's bats are finally comming around. Trailing 3-0 in the 7th, Concord tied it up 3-3. Holding South in the 8th not allowing any runs, Hunter Wyke comes up to the plate and hits a bomb in the left field bleachers.

Wyke went 4-4 2 rbi, and 2 runs

Shelby won the late game as well defeating Wake Forest 9-6.

Shelby has two more games today as they play the Cubs (aau team) and Raleigh.
