Now that is a statement game there. To go to Cherryville and win big to clinch the regular season title is getting it done. This Pineville team is looking very strong at the right time.

So does this mean that Burke and Hickory are tied 5-13 in Area IV Western Division play and, if so, what will the tie breaker be?

    Charlotte 6, Kings Mountain 5 (10 innings)

It was a well-pitched game by both teams, with a few good hits and several key errors and unearned runs on both sides. Scott Brewer went seven and gave way to TJ Worrell (4-0), who pitched three scoreless innings to record the win. But they weren't easy innings, as Kings Mountain had runners at first and second with no outs in the ninth, and bases loaded with one out in the tenth, but got no runs out of either inning.

Kings Mountain starter Cort Hall (sp?) from Clover, SC, pitched into the ninth and was very effective. He pitched well enough to win, but finally gave out after 158 pitches.

Matt McNichol and ack Myers both had a couple key hits for Charlotte, which finishes the regular season at 10-6 and fourth place in the district; 11-6 overall.

    So glad you asked... :)

They will play a game Friday, winner take all. Location of the game will be decided Thursday night at the seeding meeting.

    Why wait?

Why would they wait until Friday to play the game and burn pitchers the day before the playoffs start? Why not play tomorrow and get a couple days rest before Saturday?
