    First round in Area IV starts Saturday night.

    Pairings are still up in the air, but a few teams are locked in:

    E1 Pineville vs. W8 Burke/Hickory
    E2 Cherryville vs. W7 Asheville
    E3 Gaston Braves vs. W6 Rutherford/Taylorsville/Henderson
    E4 Charlotte vs. W5 Rutherford/Taylorsville/Henderson

    Both pitchers went 9 innings.Kesse who pitched 4 innings in the rained out game monday night logged his 13th inning of work in just 48 hours.Legion rules state a pitcher cannot pitch over 12 innings in an 72 hour period.Not sure if the 4 innings he pitched monday night count since the game was rained out after 4 innings of play.They were still discussing the matter when I left the park.If everything stands then Concord leads the series 2-1.

    Game 4 at Concord at 5:00PM thursday...7 inning game.If Kannapolis wins then they will pack the buses and head to Kannapolis for the series finale game 5 around 8:00PM.

    Lexington beat Mocksville tonight and will recieve a bye in the next round since Rowan County was thrown out of the playoffs for having an illegal player.
