I bet if the truth were known, Drew Poulk was itching to be with his teammates battling at the SE Regional; hope his vacation was not a personal downer because of this.
Those kids from MC really put together a great run. Congratulations.

This is not new; you see this type of thing often in various levels of youth baseball / softball where it is win and advance to the next level. You cannot really predict when the end of the line is and when to schedule things like vacations if you are really intent on the full commitment to the team. Hate to say it because I like the concept of teams with boundaries / community ties, etc, but maybe that's a plus for travel / showcase teams because they can schedule "other" activities better around tournaments.

 

I know that you guys were not looking to "hang" Drew, it was more for any new poster trying to stir something else up.

He's a great kid, a great family...and yes, I'm sure it hurt not to be with his teammates, but it would have hurt more not to be able to be with his brothers one last time as a family.

drew had the coaching staff's blessing to not go to deland with us. did we want him to go, well obviously. did he want to go, probably. but it is what it is.

this has been made a bigger deal in our community than it should have been, and i feel like it takes away from the other kids on the team honestly. our kids played their butts off in thomasville and deland and we couldn't have done it without each of them. remember drew didn't play at all in one game in thomasville and over half of another against pitt. so one man does not a team make.

but thanks for all the support. it was a great ride and we did all we could. we just couldn't do much with the state of florida

no fight here coach, just wish they all could finish a great run and you had a great run. alot of people from all over North Carolina were pulling for you. Good luck to you and Morehead City...until you meet Caldwell County again...then the gloves come off ...LOL...
