    I figured it needed it's own thread.

    I've been listening to Game One on the internet but dammit I can't stick around for the end of the game.

    After seven innings Greensboro leads Pleasure Island 8-3. Pleasure Island has had ten hits but double plays have helped Greensboro.

    Third baseman JP Polchinski almost had a triple play in the second and JK Whited has thrown out a runner at second and picked off two men at first - he is such a great defensive catcher.

    Good start so far for Greensboro. (going to the bottom of the 8th Greensboro is now up 10-3.) :xyzthumbs

    Chad Baker 2-3 with two walks and 2 RBIs, Trevor Mullins 2-4, 3 RBIs, Whited 2-4 and 2 RBIs.

    Kannapolis wins game 2 of the day 4-2 over Scotland Co. Kannapolis will play the winner of Caldwell/Goldsboro at 8pm tomorrow.

    hmmm - not a good start for Shelby. Garner knocked out Daniel Folk with 6 runs in the first inning. Garner leads 6-1 in the 2nd but Shelby has the bases loaded with one out.

    Wossa....I guess you will have to wait on your QB at least a few more days.They hit the ball pretty good today.I sat in the bullpen and talked to some of the Greensboro players....some really nice kids.

    Maybe Kannapolis and Greensboro will both win thursday and get to go at it again.So far they are both representing Area III well.

    I was glad I could listen to most of it - good to hear they are hitting the ball.

    All those double plays and Whited picking off three runners sure helped turn those 14 hits that pleasure Island had into just a few runs.

    I'm sure Greensboro would love one more shot at Kannapolis. You guys go ahead and pitch Kettner tomorrow so we don't have to see him on Friday if we both win.
