wow - what pitchers duel between Caldwell and Scotland County - 2 hits for Caldwell and 1 for Scotland.

I bet you see more hits than that for sure in the Greensboro/Garner game.

Trevor Mullins on the mound for Greensboro - I guess Baker won't be starting this week if he's not going tonight.

    Garner wins

    Garner---------- 10-- 14-- 2

    Greensboro------ 4-- 8-- 0

    WP Leif Baker
    LP - Trevor Mulins

Baker had 11 strikeouts, pitched 8 innings. Garner crushed the ball early and often.

    Greensboro plays Caldwell County tommorow.

Who tossed the one-hitter for Caldwell? Anyone have a name and a line?

That Baker kid from Garner Post 232 is the real deal... :applause:

In all honesty... Garner has two solid starters... and from there it could be anyone throwing Game 3. J.P. Primus (everyday shortstop) could start, Mark Carver (everyday catcher) could start, Greg Watkins (spot starter, reliever) could start, Matt Medlin (spot starter, reliever) could start. If Garner falls to the losers bracket, it could be a rough road. But if they can pull out a win tomorrow night and get back to Hatcher (Game 1 starter) for the championship on Sunday ( ) then they could be in a real good position.

Here's to hoping Wayne can pull it out over Kannapolis for a Area 1 match-up tomorrow night......... nevermind..

Just saw that Kannapolis wins 5-2.

The way Garner is hitting the ball they have a really good chance against Kannapolis tommorow night. They have already thrown their two aces out there. Whoever wins that game is your state champ IMO - I don't see any team making it back from the losers bracket to knock them off twice on Sunday.
