Caldwell and Garner it is...................good luck to each!

heard the tail of the Caldwell/K-Town game..........7-4 and K-town just left way too many runners on base.

one more comment on the "Kannapolis was the best team statement" that could be, one game don't tell you much in baseball, but Kannapolis let Caldwell's #6 and #7 pitcher hold them down most of the night and releif in the last 2 innings from a guy that went 9 the day before. Kannapolis is a great team in my book but they should have jumped all over that opportunity. Caldwell didn't hit the ball much in the early games but that don't mean they can't, i give credit to the other teams pitching. If the bats and pitching show up at the same time they may give Garner a run in the finals. Caldwell is pretty beat up right now,i hope to see some great baseball from both teams today. Lets hope both teams have their A game today and let the best team win. Good luck to both!

Congratulations to Caldwell for winning 2 big games yesterday against Shelby and Kannapolis. But someone was right when they said "Ktown stranded way too many runners". The difference in the Caldwell/Ktown game was that Caldwell seemed to get their baserunners in,,,, while Ktown stranded a total of 14 baserunners. That was the difference, plain and simple. Good Luck to Caldwell today against Garner,,,,,, and congratulations to Kannapolis(32-10) on a super season finishing 3rd in the state...

Moose, I think someone may have made that "best team" comment because Kannapolis was playing very good baseball throughout the playoffs and swept 2 very good teams in their last 2 series (Burlington and Greensboro) by overwhelmig scores. This Kannapolis team seemed to have it all,,,,, state tournament experience, defense, deep pitching which included 2 aces, strong hitting 1-9 and several on the bench that could start and you didn't lose anything. The problem is,,,, after Kannapolis won the Area III championship and "all the teams" (were in the same boat) they had that 9-day layoff waiting to come to Shelby,,, they simply never regained that momentum that they had in winning the area championship.

I can see why a fan would make that comment,,,, but again I'll say congratuations to Caldwell and Garner for making it. The Kannapolis boys have nothing to be ashamed of in finishing 3rd in the state, which is the best finish for a Kannapolis team since 1961.
