    Softball Rookie Pitcher of the Week
    Hannah Pennell (Statesville, NC/West Iredell)    : The freshman tallied a 2 wins with one save in three appearances last week for The Pride. In a 1-0 victory over USA South rival Methodist, Pennell went the distance for the shutout. She allowed seven hits and one walk with five strikeouts. In a doubleheader sweep of fifth-ranked USA South foe Christopher Newport, Pennell recorded one win and one save. In the first game, Pennell earned the save by recording the game's final three outs while allowing one run on two hits. In game two, Pennell went the distance and earn the victory by allowing three runs, two of which were earned, on 12 hits with three walks and three strikeouts
