Yeah, I'll bite....Here are my thoughts on what will go down in the NW4A.

    1. AC Reynolds (very young this year, Freedom could get them this year)
    2. Freedom
    3. East Burke
    4. Alexander Central
    5. McDowell
    6. South Caldwell
    7. Watauga

Now I feel fairly good about the top three, however I think AC Reynolds could fall from the top having to travel to Freedom, and East Burke this year. The Rockets have a very young team defensively, although very talented and quick, but how quick they come together will determine how they do in conference. The last four could flip flop in any order with a couple new coaches in the league so who really knows. Should be a fun year, but until AC Reynolds loses in conference I have to keep them on top.

Interesting that you pick EB fourth, considering they did have a very strong JV program as well as a good Varsity team last year. What does Alexander have coming back? Didn't ya'll lose quite a bit as well? Wasn't your QB as senior last year, he gave ACR fits I know last year.

Okay, I'll bite. First off, good thread. Even though it is just June, it's good to start thinking about this stuff. I think that ACR gets the early call. However, don't sleep on EB or Alexander. Freedom will be there as well. McDowell probably has more returners than anyone except Alexander, IIRC, but they also have a new coach. They will miss all-world running back Creon Logan, but there is also speed to burn from the sophmore class at that position. I know less about Watauga and SC than any of the teams in the NW4A, so I can't really comment on them.

McDowell and the single wing are going to be interesting to watch this year. There is talent there, folks. If the guys 1) come out; and 2) actually "get it", the Titans could be right there in the thick of things.

this season is really up for grabs in the NW4A. As of now, I'll give the advantage to Reynolds. I think Freedom will be better, Bristol will be back at QB, as a sophmore. And it will be the Trey Hennessee show in the backfield. I'll be courious to see how he holds up being the primary back. I think we'll find out if East Burke is truly back as a conference contender. I'll give credit for them having a good season last year, but we'll see if the overall system is better or if last year was a result of having an experienced team.

The bottom half is a coin flip. McDowell is tough to gauge just because there is a new coach with a complete 180 from the Riggs era at McDowell. Since the hiring was a bit late in the season, I don't think we should expect a drastic change in the winning column just because these kids are gonna be getting accustomed to the new system.

    Here is my prediction:

    1. AC Reynolds
    2. Freedom
    3. East Burke
    4. Alexander Central
    5. McDowell
    6. Watauga
    7. South Caldwell

The reason i picked AC in front of EB is because AC has two running backs coming backthat run 4.5's and a back up QB who scored three diffrent ways last year numerous times, AC also has all of their D-line coming back except for one. All of AC offensive line is in the thousand pound club including both of their running backs. They are also going to have a very talented receiving crew along with a QB who can throw it for days. Dont underestimate AC.

Last years QB did have his moments but he seemed inconsistant with off and on decision making. This years QB is completely different, he's smoother, gonna have an awesome backfield behind him and receivers that are more like vacuum cleaners when they wanna be. All that with a vastly improved o-line. This entire offense has my faith which is something i haven't honestly been able 2 say in a while........ and yeah that new tight end will definately help on those running plays........

    whats new

well... lets see.. once again here we are... and i get the feeling us cougars still arent getting any attention... quite honestly... it doesnt matter to me anymore.. maybe its best that way.. cause i think ac is goin to be tougher than ppl think.. yeah of course we lost a good qb but we got one this year thats just as well a good leader of the offense if not better than the one last year... last year the QB tried to do alot on his own and this year i just got the feeling its gonna be more of a unified attack from the offense this year... and we got 2 of the best backs... 1 of the best qb's... and the line may not be that big... but dont underestimate the heart this group has... and the defense.... dont u worry about them either.. because "THE HIT SQUAD" will be ready when the time comes around! just had to get that out... see you all later.... acfootball16, 99, and postaldb.... see ya'll in the weight room :xyzthumbs
