    Enka Reloaded

The Matrix trilogy's got nothing on this program. Enka's JV team is strong, top to bottom. A group with great speed, excellent hitting and fielding, solid pitching and a healthy attitude. It is not an overstatement to say that they would be very competitive with all but the very best varsity squads in WNC THIS season. In a game last week, clocked pitcher, Soesbee, at 57 MPH, saw two kids hit the ball to the fence, two make headfirst dives into bases and the Grieve kid is REALLY fast. The next two years should be a LOT of fun to watch.

Oh, by the way, the middle school hasn't lost a game in about four years, too.

Most of the other teams in WNC have one to three promising players here and there, but no one group really stands out, yet, at least not compared to Enka. I've heard that Alexander Central's JV is strong, too. Any others out there?

    JV Teams

Butler's JV is 12-0 I believe and many of those kids would be playing for other schools varsity teams. Good pitching, some pretty good sticks, and not bad speed at some positions. Butler reloads but will miss some of the senior leadership. Butler will have one of the best pitching staffs for several years.

You're right, Enka Middle is near the end of their 4th undefeated season.

This year's JV team is working on it's 2nd undefeated season.
Their record this year is 16-0, 12-0 conference. 13 of their wins are by shut-out. They have outscored their opponents by 211-5.
There are 4 girls on the JV team-Sarah Soesbee, Miranda Tounzen, Ashley Hinson and Tara Sams that have played on undefeated teams their whole school careers ( 7th-10th grades).
Coach Miller will have more talent then he knows what to do with next year with 11 or 12 returning seniors and lots of talented juniors and sophomores coming up.

Franklin has a good JV team too. I believe their record is 14-2.

Why don't some of the JV teams get together while the Varsity is enjoying post season and have a tourn. Maybe donate proceeds to a charity or use the monies to offset cost of teams having to travel more than was budgeted by schools? Be good experience and a great way for these ladies to meet each other and make some friends also. A three field venue would get alot of games in.

    JV Tourney

Thumbs up to the tournament idea. I am a proponent of post season play at all levels. Kids should have the opportunity to play for a championship. It gives regular season games more meaning, too.

North Davidson finished 21-0 and played some very good teams. West Rowan 19-1, Southern Alamance 17-2, Forbush, Central Cabarrus,Spring Valley all quality programs as well as conference schools. Would like to applaud the folks from all the other schools on this board (Enka and others) It shows why the Varsity programs are successful with these young kids doing this each year. :applause:
