As a relative newcomer to TBR, I'd like to know what other posters are from the eastern part of the state. This is a really nice place to keep up with NC High School Baseball, even if it is tilted heavily to the west(a credit to all you western posters). My son has transferred to Rocky Mount Senior High this year , and I'd like to keep the board updated on the Big East happenings as best I can. I have had the privilege, and good fortune ,to meet "Prepster". He has been very helpful with questions I've had concerning my son's move to RMSH, and with questions about baseball in general , having a son who has tread where mine would like to as well. Y'all keep up the good work, and I'm going to try and get some more easterners to contribute.

:applause: ...that's the best way to bring more Easterner's on board (word of mouth), since all our advertising money has been spent paying the salaries for the moderators. :laugh1:

Seriously, We would love to gain more members from your area, Southern 1. I have a feeling that as we get closer to the season, we will see more. Rivals.com is a website that devotes most of their attention to the East.

Thanks for continuing to support TBR and I look forward to your contributions.

I am originally from down east, though I coach at Person High School. We will be coming to the RMSH Easter Tournament this year, so maybe we will meet. Danny Weaver, the formaer baseball coach there is a great friend of mine, adn I know Pat Smith from his days at South Johnston. Al Carter at Northern Nash is also a friend of mine, so I know the baseball there. Hope to hear a lot from you about the Big East and wish you the best!!

    SoutherNo1,

I am from New Bern. My younger son graduated from NBHS in 2001 and now plays for UNC-Charlotte.

I've spent quite a few evenings at Gryphon Field, with high school ball and Legion. When my son played fall ball in high school, a few weekend tournaments were held there, as well. Rocky Mt. has a history of good baseball, as I'm sure you know.

Prepster is certainly one who can provide excellent insight into the recruiting process. I've been fortunate to meet him, too. His son is an outstanding player for the Heels and has a bright future ahead of him.

You'll find some great folks here. All have a love of the game, and have useful insights which they willingly share. I don't post much personally, deferring to the more knowledgeable posters on this sight, but I read the posts frequently and have learned a lot from my visits here.

I still get to some of the New Bern games. Maybe we'll meet when our teams play each other. Looking forward to hearing from you in the future!

I'm from the east and it's about time someone else joins the board to talk eastern baseball! :xyzthumbs

I play baseball at Lenoir CC in Kinston. I played HS ball at Cary HS. My grandparents currently live in Spring Hope (right outside Rocky Mount) although they are fixin to move to Clayton. But I am familiar with Rocky Mount and other Big East teams (New Bern, Rose, etc).

    Look forward to the talks.

Niner Dad, I've been instructed to send you greetings from Britt Johnson. He says that you were his little league coach in New Bern. The Johnsons were a big factor in our decision to let our son transfer to RMSH. He has played quite a bit of baseball with the youngest, Grant. Britt knew who you were immediately when told I had a reponse from "niner dad". they are quite a passionate sports family.

I tried to send you a PM, but I don't think it went through.

The Johnsons are a great family! In them you have some really good friends. Britt was a tenacious competitor, and a great kid, who's grown into a fine young man. Tell them I said hello next time you see them!

Niner...You are a popular man. I sat at a basketball game tonight with another person that you know. Randy Rummage. He said hello and asked about Adam.
