    1st game

I attending the first game at UNCP. St Andrews traveled the 15 miles to get whipped by a very experience hitting and a very solid fielding team in UNCP.
I was very impressed with UNCP 2B (#17), he was impressive. He did bobble a couple of balls but still made the plays. He even made one play sitting down after making a diving stop; he was definately the best player on the field. Also, I'm kind of surprised in the sizes of the LF in 6'3" 250 lbs but can move.....traveled a lot of distance and made in a diving catch in the short LF-C gap.
UNCP has a lot of powerful hitters, #5, #26, #34 & #8. Pitching appeared to be strong as well with #32 & #43. Just a little dissappointed in #43 standing 6' 7" and dropping down probably 7" with below side delivery. Use the height; come over the top, pitch down hill.
UNCP has a load of talent on bench as well!

sure did go! can't comment on quality of practice as I don't have the knowledge to, but sure did enjoy seeing the boy on the field - hitting and fielding, getting ready for the 20th!

    Believe it or not!

I actually didn't make my son's first day of practice, but rather went and watched a couple of young men that played for me during the past fall's baseball and with my son in fall and school ball.

BRCC played Truett McConnell yesteday in a doubleheader. One of my boys threw 6 innings giving up 3 er and 2 ur, took the loss 5-4. BRCC had a chance to tie in the 9th with a runner on 3rd and 1 out, player got picked off 3rd by the pitcher with the IF in. Not sure how that happens as a coach or player in that situation, but it did.

2nd game another of my boys threw 3 innings giving up 1 hit and struck out 4 and 0ER in relief. BRCC lost 9-1.

Was great to see them both do well in their first college baseball games, and I was excited to get to see it. Have another one of my boys kicking off their season this week, gonna try and go see that one as well. After that, will probably make quite a few trips over the mountain to see my own and a few to Asheville to see another great friend's son deal on the mound.

To all your sons, good luck as baseball season is here.
