Looks like there is about 8 or so teams from the Carolinas qualified for the NSA Super World Series.
Congrats to all that qualified :229031_ha

Anyone planning to make the trip? If so, keep us posted.

    Super World's - Peoria

Going to the Super World's would be a lot more exciting if it wasn't in East Peoria, IL. If you've never been to East Peoria,...don't. Don't know why NSA has to choose such out of the way places like Peoria. Choose a major metro area where you can easily travel to. There aren't any non-stops to Peoria. We've been there, done that, and our team swore we would never go back to Peoria again. Later. FPitch99

    NSA Super World

Magic 10U finished second in the "A" division of the Super World that was played in East Peoria over the weekend. Team from Indiana won it. I believe the Fuquay Bombs may have won the 12U "A" bracket, they were in the championship game. Good showing for North Carolina!

We took our 14U Stars team to Peoria the first year of the Super NIT. The bus ride was a long 15-16 hours. The park and fields were very nice and the tournament was well run and everyone had a good time. The only problem with the tournament was that it was straight double elimination. There were teams from as far away as CA and FL that lost games at 8:00 and 11:00 Saturday morning and they were done!! We were forutunate to play 5 or 6 games, but there were plenty of teams that traveled a long way and only played 2 or 3 games. [IMG]

If the tournament format hasn't changed, I would have a hard time recommending traveling that far with the possibility of only playing 2-3 games. But that's just me. :twocents:

    Super

Our two times at the Super Worlds were Kansas City and Las Vegas, not bad stops. Vegas was 117 degree when we played. The balls they used were melting and slick as glass. I lived in Southern Illinois for 13 years, and travelled to Peoria to one of our surface mines, U all are right, not a great spot, especially with much of the industry had left.

It does seem as though they could find a better place to hold a tournament that should be the showcase for NSA. Maybe they will someday.

Congrats to the NC teams that went and made a good showing for our great state!!
