    Word had it: Ratledge injured, on the way to ER.

    Wood had to leave after facing two batters.

    Ratledge's is a major concern for me. He should not have been playing. I hope Woody is ok?

    While I am still in Charleston, this is what I heard:
    Ratledge was in a collision at second and has a possible spleen injury.

    Wood had pain in hand or arm.

    Can someone from AK please PM with an update on both these boys injuries---Logan Ratledge's really concerns me

    AK Update

    Rat is OK - he is sore, and was taken to the Hospital for precautionary observation. He took one helluva hit. He was coming in on a grounder behind second attempting to touch second and throw to first for a DP. Bobbled and couldn't convert at second and continued down the baseline to throw to first and got wiped out by their #6 - clean, hard slide but vicious hit. Rat came out and Ham came in at second, Jack to SS. Ham made a good play later - and Jack did fine.

    I understand that Rat is on the watch list to make sure nothing escalates.

    Story of the game - Lover - pitched a whale of a game. Forst came in after Woody left and closed the last two outs - final one on a called third strike curve ball.

    In the playoffs you never know who will have a chance to step up -tonight they did the job.

    Glad to have Sunday to recover...not sure we could have limped through a DH today!

    I hope the injuries do not overshadow the importance of Ashton Lover's night. I love this kid's bulldog mentality. He's a big time pitcher!!!

    Can someone give us some details on how Ashton did?
