i believe the most used "juice" that was used in high school was the creatine. this is now seen as a negative thing and i think it's use has dropped. i haven't heard of that much steroid use in our local high school. there have been rumors of one or at the most 2 football players using it, but they con;t have any of the side effects that normally goes wit steroids. the change in anger, increase in acne etc.

Guys....I know none of us want to think so but it still happens in HS. I know of a situation where the Dad actually got the steroids for his son to keep him ahead of the competition....sad but true.:thud:

Question: Isn't Creatine legal by high school & college rules? If it isn't, then that is news to me. I know several kids who have used creatine...

But when I made the statement about Calwell I wasn't only thinking of Madison. That team had 4 guys around 90 last year. What are they feeding them up there.

My wife is a PA and has seen a number of HS athletes who have presented with the effects of creatine use. All present with the same symptom: Bloody stool. I think they were football players.

Bloody stool can be a symptom for a number of health issues, not necessarily creatine use, could have been other health issues, unless other symptoms were present.

    Bloody Stool

As Coach Evans knows first hand bloody stool can also be a symptom of mega doses of " Geritol" On a serious note. lets not be nieve, if it's in the rest of society it's in our public schools.

I am fully aware of that... In fact I have heard that some HS coaches either provided creatine or told kids where to get it. I know its use was certainly condoned... to me, anything other than hard work and eating right is taking a shortcut. Its a shame that hard work and perseverance doesn't seem to pay off anymore.
