Wilson gives away homefield advantage in a game that Pitt Co. (5 errors) was determined to give to Wilson on Thursday at Fike HS.

Trailing by a run to start the 9th, Wilson gets its #9 batter aboard to lead off. Everyone in the park knows the next batter is going to lay down a bunt, and he squares to do so and takes the first pitch, high and away. Next pitch: SURPRISE! Runner takes off for 2nd -- HIT AND RUN! Batter pops up weakly to SS, who easily doubles off the runner. Next batter, and game, almost a foregone conclusion, flies out to LF.

From its hottest start in years (16-3) to being mired in its usual mediocrity, Wilson drops its 4th straight and stares elimination in the face Friday night at Pitt CC.

SSS high school took about 1 1/2" of rain around 6:00, post 71 worked on the field for an hour and it was still very sloppy, both teams agreed it would be safer to postpone the game.
