    Early rainout

    Wilson vs. Pitt Co. Post 39, Game 2 at Pitt CC, has been rescheduled for Saturday @ 7 p.m. If a third game is needed, it will be Sunday in Wilson's Fleming Stadium.

    Cary Post 67 topped Garner Post 232 by the score of 20-3 on Friday night to sweep the series.

    Been a long time since Garner exited the playoffs so quickly.

    Cary awaits the winner of Clayton/Roxboro.



    Also, New Bern topped Rocky Mount but I didn't get a score.

    Game 2 will be played at SSS at 7:00 tonight, if needed game 3 will also be played at SSS on Sunday at 7:00

    All hail the mighty South Division...

    ...and its king, Wayne County, which will return to its rightful place at the state tournament and almost certainly vie for the title, even in a down year for all of Area I.

    Pitt County 39 eliminated Wilson tonight, 11-7, capping the end-of-season doldrums for Post 13, losers of its last five.

    Just wait 'til next ... oh, never mind.

    Pitt's win guarantees that the Area I East title series will have either Post 39 or Wayne County in it for at least 18 straight years.

    I suggest that Legion officials put Pitt in the North and Wilson in the South to balance the divisions.
