I'll answer that. Nobody in the state wants to play Cherryville or Pineville in the opening round.

 

Precisely. I do hope Area I and III are paired, but I forget how they've been doing it.

 

It really sucks that one of those will stay home. I am an Area I guy and respect Area II legion ball... but it's almost a crime for Cherryville/Pineville to stay at home and 2 from each of Area I/II advance.

Area I wants to play either Rowan County or Randolph? I'm not sure you want to look in that direction either.

 

Not trying to throw gas on fire, but with current tournament format, it only makes sense to give host one of the 8 spots,,, so we hear this argument that the host is nondeserving from time to time.

Just 2 years ago in 2006 when Thomasville hosted the state tournament, their legion team was so bad they didn't even make the playoffs, and a lot of folks were saying that the 2 Area III finalists Kannapolis & Randolph Co should both get in and Thomasville should be left out. Well it didn't happen, Kannapolis won the area, Randolph went home, but Thomasville went to the state tournament and actually won a game. Just something to keep in mind about how anything can happen in this crazy game sometimes.

 

To say I'd rather play Rowan or Randoph is merely to say how good Pineville/Cherryville are.

Again, no one doubts that Gastonia can do some damage, but the point of my first post on this subject is that Gastonia is not an "elite"team.

Hey guys, don't attack me, but trying to keep up with the scores of this area is tough enough with lack of reporting, but all the other discussion that is not related to this series makes it even more difficult, start a new thread.

 

I'm sorry that you aren't able to read through the posts that don't contain Area II scores.

Now that the Area II playoffs are over, maybe you'll be okay.
