    Randolph County vs. Rowan County

Both teams have qualified for state tournament. Area 3 championship series should start Monday night in Randolph County, if I'm right about the seedings, but with reversals of late, check your morning paper.

Look for Rowan to rest a lot of pitchers in this series. I think you will see some guys throw who haven't toed the rubber a lot lately. They completely burnt themselves out last year in the Area III championship. I think they probably learned their lesson.

Listening to the radio tonight, Coach Gannt is giving some of his regulars the night off. Roland, Jarrett, Austin Shull, and both of the Holmes brothers are sitting this one out. Wouldn't be surprised at all if guys like Miclat and Zach Smith got the night off tomorrow. Probably smart considering the grinding series they just went through.

    LP: Parker Gobbel

Rowan rests most of the starters in this 7th inning affair. Moyer pitched a gem for them and a couple Rowan errors aided Randolph to jump on top early 4-0. Rowan only registered 4 hits in the game and just couldn't get too much going. You could tell that Rowan was really drained from the previous series. You will see a different team tomorrow night at Newman Park no matter which starters play or not. Credit Post 45, they came to play even though our regulars were not out there. They banged out 15 hits and had a 4 spot in the 1st inning and a 5 spot in the 3rd to put Rowan away. I would expect to still see some starters rest tomorrow, not entirely sure what Gantt will do. Ethan "Skip" Fisher came in and pitched well for Rowan. Game 2 Tuesday night back at Newman Park.

Rowan County ties the best of five series (1-1) Tuesday night at Newman Park. Tanner Brown started and pitched very well for Rowan and earned the win. Randolph took a 2-0 lead lead in the 2nd inning with back to back doubles, but Rowan responed to take the lead for good. Things got interesting in the 9th when Post 45 had the bases loaded and one out, but Philip Miclat skied to snag a liner and doubled up the runner at first base to end the game. Randoloh had 11 hits, but left too many on base. Rowan made a couple real nice defensive plays in the outfield to help their pitchers. Trey Holmes came in releif of Brown and pitched part of the 7th and then the 8th and 9th. Rowan will be back at McCrary Park in Asheboro Wednesday. Zack Simpson should be pitching for Post 342. Not sure who Randolph will throw.

Good talking to you tonight tj21

Nuther great crowd at Newman Park, and with halfnhalf pot of $434, I continue to set records, I only missed the winning number tonight by over 30,000 numbers... How do you do that night after night?

To heck with actually winning, just give me a number off the winning roll for once...
