Rowan advances to the state tourney in Garner!!!! I think after that game 1 where Rowan rallied to win, I think that really hurt K-ville's spirit. They made too many mistakes this series, you can't do that against Rowan. Rowan will play either neighbor SR or have to play Randolph County. The lone highlight for K-ville tonight was when the centerfielder (I'm not sure of his name) robbed Micah Jarrett of a homerun. He just reached over the fence and pulled it back. I was amazed and all the Rowan fans stood and cheered for the great play. I'm guessing the next series would start Sunday?? I could be wrong.

Eagles and Tools are correct,,,,, anytime rain shortens a series, the series reverts back to a smaller series. In fact I have seen a series years ago revert back to who won game 1.

As for Rowan,,,,,,, they are playing good ball right now, period. As I said awhile back, if they hit the ball they are state contenders, because they are just strong in other areas of the game.

Congrats to Kernersville on a great season.

well, i was wrong with that prediction huh? predicting kernersville over rowan.

i do agree though that game 1 was the killer. i won't say game 1 cost kernersville the series, but i think if they would have held on to their lead in the 9th inning and took game 1, they would have at least made it a 6 or 7 game series.

congratulations to rowan, and good luck to south rowan and randolph county in the final portion of their series.

rowan's next series will only be for placement in the state tournament right? seems to me you'd almost be better off saving some pitching, rather than wasting alot of it in a somewhat meaningless series in the Area III championship.

i know rowan has plenty of arms and i dont mean that for them particularly, i just mean for any team, seems like a good idea to hold back some pitching.

I really don't think Gantt will hold anybody back because he likes everyone to get good work in. It should still be the same rotation as previous. Cy Young, Keegan Linza, Lee Dupre, and Weston Church. The bullpen might work out a little bit differently, but Gantt still wants everyone to get some work. If K-ville would have won last night and they would have had a game 5, I'm thinking that Phillip Hilliard would've got the start. He hasn't pitched that much this year and last year he was Rowan's best reliever(closer) but he has lost something on his fastball and has thrown a lot of breaking pitches. He started once this year and got the win. They just are blessed with a lot of really good arms and not everyone gets to pitch a whole lot. Alex Britt and Corbin Shive have been the prime relievers followed by Tanner Brown and Matt Hall. First baseman Trey Holmes would've probably been the number 3 or 4 starter this year but he got hurt earlier in the high school season with East Rowan so he probably won't see any action until the next high school season and then of course next year with the legion team. My point is I don't think Gannt will hold any of his best arms back just because this series doesn't really mean anything except seeding, I guess that might mean something, I'm not really sure.

I've told folks that Gantt and the attitude he brings to the ballpark every night is one of Rowan's strengths, he coaches every game to win,,,,,,,,,,, obviously some coaches would occasionally find reasons to change things around and this same group would still be good, but they wouldn't be 35-2,,,,, they'd be around 30-10.
