    Mocksville 2

    WP: Russell Michalec
    LP: Jake Koontz
    SV: Billy Veal

Rowan sweeps Mocksville 3-0 in the best of five first round series. Rowan jumped on top 4-0 off starter Koontz and knocked him out early. Brian King held Rowan down and gave his team a chance. Mocksville hit two solo homers on the night but it wasn't nearly enough. Rowan held Mocksville to 5 runs in three games and the Rowan starters have been remarkable and they all seem to be peeking at the right time. Philip Miclat stayed hot with three hits on the night. Mocksville got the first two on in the 9th but Billy Veal retired the last three batters via the strikeout. Rowan will either be at Mooresville or home against Kannapolis on Sunday night. Thanks for the radar VillageIdiot, and yes we were at the stadium getting all sorts of phone calls about people west of us getting hammered. If you look real closely at the first picture, you will see me just standing there saying sonuva-?"gun",,,,, seriously we were staring right down the barrel at those storms coming right at us 2 hours before gametime and we just battoned down the hatches to brace for the worse. Amazingly, those huge storms that dropped 2 inches of rain in Mooresville just fizzled out somewhere around the county line. We got maybe 45 mins. of drizzle, never anything heavy.

Course when the game started, the Mooresville bats brought the heavy stuff and put us away 10-0. :chair:

Hopefully we will do better tonite back up in Motown.

Is they any chance of meeting any you Mooresville brethren up at your WhataBurger before gametime? You know us Kannapolis folks all like the WaB.

    Game 2: Lexington 3 Stanly Co 1

I don't see this posted yet: Lexington 3 Stanly Co. 1. Lex leads 2-0.

Jordan Hudson gutted out 8 innings, surrendering 3 hits. Hat tip to Ethan Austin who nearly matched him, going 7 2/3 & giving up 7 hits & 1 earned run. Tough loss.

If you want details, here's a link to the Lex Dispatch article:
