Maybe posters from the east will share Area 1 and Area 2 info.

Area 3 finals are set between Kannapolis(28-7) and Randolph County(28-11); however, home field is still being determined by a tiebreaker since Kann was #1 seed in the south and Randolph was #1 seed in north. Best of 5 series begins Wednesday July 19.

Area 4 finals are set with Caldwell County traveling to Pineville for game 1 of this series. If anyone from Area 4 can share team records and exact starting date for this series, it would be great.

Congrats to all the teams in the area finals for qualifying for the state tournament, except only the champion from Area 3 will go because High Point is the host team at the tournament.

Have had requests for directions to both Kannapolis and Randolph County, so here goes:

Kannapolis Legion team plays their home games at A.L.Brown High School:
    - take I-85 to Kannapolis and take exit 63 which is the Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium/Kannapolis Lane Street exit.
    - from Charlotte turn left at this exit and follow Lane Street approx.2 miles, go thru only one stoplight which is N.Cannon Blvd.
    - turn left onto Rose Avenue into housing development
    - will pass ALB football stadium on your left, turn into campus immediately after tennis courts.

Randolph County Legion team plays their home games at McCrary Park in Asheboro:
    - take I-85 towards Lexington
    - take Hwy 64 to Asheboro
    - in Asheboro, take Route 220 North
    - exit at Presnell Street and turn left (westbound) onto Presnell
    - take next left onto McCrary Street and follow approx. 2 miles
    - ballpark will be on your right

    Hope these directions help...

Welp, Caldwell County is 20-13 after starting 1-8. I saw Pineville's record, I think its 28-6 or something close to that.

Caldwell County plays at MS Deal stadium in Granite Falls. Easiest way I can tell you to get there is either North on 321 until you leave Hickory via the Catawba River bridge then its about 5 miles (give or take), you will go through 2 stoplights on the third (Fairvalue Shopping center on your left, Pizza Hut on your right) take a left. Next stoplight take another left and you will run into Granite Falls Middle school, the stadium in behind the school.

That series starts Thursday night in South Meck.

Pineville plays at South Meck High School, I am sure the Charlotte faithful on here are all over that one.

Area 1: Garner Post 232 vs Pitt County Post 39

Area 2: Morehead City vs Fayetteville

Could Garner-Caldwell face each other in the State Tourney? Seems like quite a rivalry has been built over the last few years.

Good luck everyone involved. I wish I had the chance to play in the State Legion tournament. You're playing for a lot of old timer's out there.

    Kannapolis/Randolph Series

Was just informed that Kannapolis will get the homefield advantage in this series, so the first game is at A.L.Brown HS on Wednesday night.

    Directions to MS DEAL Stadium

How about better directions top MS DEAL Stadium in Granite Falls?? I am really looking forward to this series between Pineville and Caldwell County...South Meck/Providence/Christian v South Caldwell?? What other High Schools are represented on the Caldwell County Legion Team?

I've been impressed with how well the teams from the Northwestern part of the state can hit.. a depleted Pineville pitching staff has done a great job but missing Bard and Morris have hurt!! Yes, Pineville is 28-6 and have 11 kids on the roster going on to play D-1 ball..

I've heard some rumors saying Caldwell's 2 aces will probably not be available during the Pineville series. I was told last night that Jimmy Messer is leaving for the beach today and will not return home until Sunday night. I was told Madison Bumgarner was required to not pitch for 10 days prior to attending an event in Wilmington that ends I believe on July 27th. If this is indeed the case then maybe Madison can still pinch hit but not pitch. Also I'm worried if Madison pitches in the Wilmington event on the 27th then he may not be able to go in the State Tournament (at least not the first few days and it could be too late by then). Most people would agree that Messer and Bumgarner are 2 of the top pitchers in the state and without their services things would not look nearly as hopeful.

Better check the AmLeg rules - there's something about no dual team participation after Legion playoffs begin - so if Madison is on another team's roster (referring to Wilmington), he may no longer be eligible to play Legion ball.....

It's not technically a team, but it is a showcase...perhaps the most exclusive showcase in the country; East Coast Pro. This is an area that I would like to see the Legion guys bend a little bit. You shouldn't penalize a player for attending a weekend event this important. They make allowances for State Games...I would like to see them make allowances for the very few players with this exclusive invitation to East Coast Pro event. It wouldn't effect many players to do this.
