Caldwell County defeats Pineville 7 - 2 to tie the series at 2 games each. The Area IV Championship game is tomorrow night in Pineville. The momentum has definitely swung in Caldwell's favor after winning the past 2 games. Jimmy "Bulldog" Messer pitched a gem for Caldwell. Madison Bumgarner with another HR.

I can clear this up a little bit. Before the sign up's for Legion ball, Madison, his mother and Coach Hamby discussed the times that Madison would have to be gone and all was fine. All of this was taken care of before he even signed up for Legion ball. And just for the record, the Cleveland Indian's coach called to tell Madison to go on to the State Tourney, pitch early, and then come to the East Coast Pro after.

Luigiboy,,,, thanks for the clarification,,, but your right, my bad,,,, I just figured that comment applied here. :satana:

Btw, nuther great CLUTCH pitching performance from Brian Little tonight for Ktown pitching into the 8th inning when we needed him. Ryan Query hit his 10th homerun of the season and Kyle Seager added his 12th, to boost the team total to now 65 for the season. Asheboro hit 2 homeruns from ? (sorry didn't catch his first name--- I believe Gariano was his last name) and Neal Pritchard.

Kannapolis (30-8) now takes a 2-1 lead in series and travels to Asheboro (28-13) tomorrow night for game 4 at 7pm. According to the schedule, the Asheboro Copperheads also have a 7pm game scheduled at home tomorrow which creates another field problem for Asheboro, but thats not our problem and the legion teams shouldn't be pushed back yet another day because of this with the state tournament only days away.

    Keep swingin guys...:bananalam

Btw, heard tonight that both Area 1 and Area 2 series were reduced to best 2 of 3 and they are over. Don't know why or even if this is true, just passing along what I heard at the ballpark because it was from a reliable source.

The Coach for the Cleveland Indian's (His invited team) offered to let him stay and pitch early in the Legion State Tourney. It's amazing how flexable the Pro's are but Legion cannot bend.

    how is AL set up?

help clarify, please. these teams playing the area finals; they are already assured of making the final 8 , right ? (except one that gets kicked out because of the High Point team hosting? ?). are these area finals meaningless games except for seeding? let me know if I have all this wrong.

why can't it be set up where each team "survives & advances" to the final 8? sort of like to the college world series. I realize the situation with the host 8th team. why couldn't there be like 7 or 8 areas?
