    Braves, that wasn't nice...:77321_bs:

Actually, I'm fixing to make this trip to Ashebird with dark skies on the horizon,,,,, but Lexy BBQ is the first stop.

Hopefully we can get game 2 in tonight, but if it rains us out again tonight, expect a ruling from the commish.

    Go Wojans!!!

greenbalz, it was probably you who came up with that name.... :ylsuper:

Btw, great pitching performances tonight by Asheboro's Yow and Kannapolis' Sherrill. Asheboro pushes across winning run in bottom of 9th to win 5-4 and even the series 1-1. Jerod Faggart hit his 16th homerun of the season in the loss.

Tomorrow in Kannapolis is critical game 3,,, Randolph County (28-12) at Kannapolis (29-8)

Oh well,,,, at least the Lexy BBQ was awesome tonight, as always.

Caldwell defeats Pineville 15 - 8 after scoring 14 runs in the final 3 innings. Madison Bumgarner has decided to remain with the team through the conclusion of the State Tournament afterall so the team was skyhigh as you can imagine. Madison was back in the lineup tonight as the DH (after sitting out last night with the exception of 1 final at bat in the bottom of the 9th for what looked like his final farewell) after informing everyone that he wants to help the team win a state championship. He certainly made an impact by hitting 2 HRs with 1 of them being a grand slam. After hitting a 2 run shot in the 7th he was intentionally walked in the 8th but when he came up in the 9th with bases loaded Pineville had no choice but to pitch to him unless they wanted to walk in a run (which in hindsight would have been a better choice after hitting the grand slam).

Jimmy Messer will also be back with the team on Sunday after being at the beach since early last week. I expect Jimmy to pitch on Sunday and even the series up. The momentum is definitely with Caldwell now especially how they battled back after being down 8-4 heading into the 7th inning.
