Pitt County Post 160 defeated Pitt County Post 39 3-2 last night. And Tyrell Worthington did not play and is done with legion ball. He has been placed on shutdown by the Arizona Diamondbacks and leaves for rookie ball later in the week.

They're building their momentum to be ready for the State Championship. No sense in showing all their cards this early. :cheer:

Wayne County Post 11 is attempting to rebound from a horrendous 12-12 mark last season. WC has defeated Edgecombe County, Garner twice, and Kinston. WC lost to Snow Hill 8-7.

The pitching staff is led by Garrett Davis (UNC) and Grant Sasser (NCSU) both of whom played for state champ Charles B. Aycock. Both pitched against Kinston in order to be ready for the State Games. Hence the loss to SH and its ace Sowers. Well, we'll use that as our excuse.:rolleyes5:

Wayne has had a weird schedule so far because it shut down for graduation and the state event. But things will pick up Monday at home against New Bern.

Pitt Co. 39 has lost several games and does not appear to be as strong as normal. We have six teams in our half of the Area I East, and two don't make the playoffs. Snow Hill lost big to Edenton for its first loss after beating us. That team's pitching may not be deep enough.

Garner picked up a win last night @ North Raleigh. They host Apex tonight. I will post the results when I get home from the game.

Lots of sore arms in Garner right now and their top pitcher has yet to throw this summer (coming back from arm injury). One thing about Garner's legion program is they know how to come together as a team and win when it counts late in the season.

I started a blog on our team. I emailed all the teams, saying I would be willing to post whatever they sent. I was hoping to get everyone to send scores and summaries so we could keep up with the league at one site.

I got three responses out of 12. A sportswriter go the same lack of interest. Then some complain about lack of coverage.

I am not going to get fancy here, just post stories and stats. Anyone connected with Area I East teams can send me something.
