    Final 7 innings

    We (Kernersville) played with our junior legion team tonight and one senior player and faced a Mocksville group with 6 college players. I thought our junior kids did very well and showed poise against the older kids. The future looks bright for the Kernersville Junior team. Kernersville plays again at Thomasville-Davidson on Wednesday. Whether we have our regular players will depend on the playoffs this week.

    Rowan wins opener!

    Rowan County 17
    Randolph County 0

    WP: Forrest Buchanan

    Rowan starts the season 1-0 with a trouncing of Randolph County. Both teams remained short-handed tonight with Rowan missing the East Rowan players and Randolph missing the Asheboro players. Russell Michalec got Post 342 going with a two-run shot in the 1st inning to get Rowan going and the visitors never looked back. Rowan played solid defense only comitting one error. Lots of young faces got a chance to play tonight and got to play with some seasoned veterans in Trey Holmes and Billy Veal. Rowan is idle until Friday when they host Concord for the home opener.

    Kernersville scores 6 runs in the top of the 9th with 2 outs.

    Post 36 1-1 (1-0) will play again on Saturday at Western Forsyth.

    South Rowan 9
    Kannapolis 6

    Lots of walks tonight, both teams pitched a lot of people tonight because of this being a non-league game. Kannapolis got two runners on in the 9th but could not capitalize. South was very patient tonight and the Kannapolis pitchers could not throw consistent strikes. Michael Lowman wins his first game as South Rowan Legion coach.
