    Last day of regular season for Area III is June 30, so let's just take through the end on scores.

    WP: Forrest Buchanan
    LP: Daniel Welch

    Rowan bounces back from a tough loss at Stanly to romp Kannapolis and stay in first place (8-3 & 11-4 overall) with South Rowan in Area III South division standings. K-Town led early 1-0 thanks to two Rowan County errors. Rowan finished with five errors on the night. Kannapolis comitted seven before it was all said and done. With the game tied at 1-1 in the third inning, Corbin Shive did what he's done the past three games, he hit a homerun (his seventh) to give the home team a 4-1 lead to stay setting the tone. The game stayed fairly close most of the night until Rowan got a bases clearing two-RBI double from Noah Holmes. Matt Miller launched a two-run homer in the 8th and Trey Holmes ended the game with a two-run homerun over the scoreboard to end the game in the 8th. Big game Tuesday night as South Rowan and former Rowan great Michael Lowman roll into Salisbury looking to take sole possession of first place. Should be a great game, and a large crowd is expected (oh gee what a surprise).

    Oh I know it, I wouldn't be surprised if the 50-50 is $400 tonight, if I could only be so lucky.

    Rowan takes first place battle!

    Rowan County 15
    South Rowan 3

    7 innings

    Rowan wins going away as Russell Michalec sent the fans home a little early with a three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh. The game stayed tense and tight early on with South battling back to tie the game at 3-3 in the fourth thanks to three Rowan throwing errors. Rowan responded the very next half inning to go ahead for good. Trey Holmes finished 4-for-5 with three singles and a homer to lead Post 342. Umpire was calling strikes a literal foot off the plate for both teams. Rowan returns to action Wednesday looking to exact revenge on Stanly County as they visit Newman Park.
