    Showdown in Mooresville

    Mooresville 10-9 South Rowan

SR put up 3 in top of second off Moors lefty Keith Little. Moors answered with a 7 spot in bottom half off Randy Shepard. Both arms settled in and put up zeros until seventh. Little tired and SR plated a run to get back to 7-4. Chris Dula from Mooresville was brought in and give up a 3R HR to tie game at 7-7. Moors answered with 3 in bottom for 10-7 lead. SR got one back in top of 8 and pushed one across in top of 9 but left bases loaded. Dula got credit for two ks in ninth but most in the park were convinced he struck out five in that last frame. Some extremely questionable two strike pitched were flinched on and continued the inning. Just highlighted a bad night for the umpireing crew all the way around. With the caliber of these two teams you would think they would send better.

    Surry County 4 7 innings

The Hi-Toms absolutely crushed the ball tonight at Finch Field. Seven home runs. Keven Sanders had a career night with three home runs, including two grand slams. Ten RBIs. Mike Whited hit two HRs and went 4-6 with the 2 HRs, double and five RBIs. David Coffey and Brock Hudgens also homered tonight. Hudgens had a three run blast in the first that staked Post 87 to a 3-0 lead and they never looked back. Desean Anderson was 4-5 with a walk. I believe he scored five times. Not sure how many RBIs he had.

I hoped they saved a few hits and runs for Randolph County tomorrow night.
