    I do believe that Randolph will open on the road tonight as their field is not available. Games 2 and 3 at Randolph.

    Randolph and statesville rained out last night. NOW game 1 will be in Asheboro. Would like to add, I made the Rowan- Mocksville game Sunday night. Anyone that DOES NOT believe American Legion is the best Summer baseball definitely did not attend that game. A full house at Rich Park and two teams and fans that don't care for each other with a lot of history, it does not get any better than that. And ofcourse, playing for a purpose helps!! Great atmosphere, felt like a minor league game in a small town. Wished everyone associated with baseball could experience a game like that or, a Cherryville-Caldwell, match up. That would put all the AL doubters to rest!

    Great win for Statesville. Won 8-6. They scored most of their runs in 5th inning. Both teams put the ball in play. Very few strikeouts.

    This was my first time attending a Statesville legion game in the 7 years I have lived in Statesville. I grew up in Caldwell and played for Post 29. I was surprised at the size of the crowd. Crowd was bigger than what I imagined and the fans were into the game. Wasn't a Caldwell crowd,but the crowd was good. The Statesville team is good. Hope they win tonight.
