    A different view....

I didn't have a dog in this fight, so here's the scoop---Kannapolis handed this one to the Moors on a silver platter, with dessert!!!! John J. Tuttle started for K-Town on 4 days rest from 120++ pitches and gave up 2 ER's, 5 hits(HR & hard liner to Beaver)--other 3 were grounders and a fly-ball not caught. 2 BB's & 4 or 5 K's--pulled after 5, up 7-4....K-Town pounded the ball all nite and left runners stranded all nite. Kannapolis reliever gave up 4 runs in 4 batters in 6th, capped by Dula's HR. 2nd reliever, Zack Jones, pitched well for 2 innings, giving up 1 unearned run. Score 9-7 Moors after 6.
K-Town scored 6 in the 7th and 8th, and carried a 13-9 lead to the 9th, and our relievers could not throw a strike, walking 4 in a row, and 2 errors(1 was a pop-up which was probably scored a hit, but should have been caught to end the game), then a grounder down the 3rd baseline that scored the tying and go-ahead runs----14-13 Moors.
Bottom of 9th, Moor reliever walked 3 on 12 pitches, most of which hit the net behind home-plate, then last 3 batters struck out.
Congrats to Mooresville, but we gave this one away, plain & simple--a total collapse by the home team! I hate to sound critical, and would like to say that The Moors kept fighting, but I think there were 2 pinch-hit walks we gave to batters put in just to get some PT.(not sure of that-I was down in left field, and the announcer went into shock and quit-except to say on the loud-speaker,"will somebody make a play!?!")
