    Asheville--How good are they? Scores

    I heard that Asheville has a pretty good team this year. How do they stack up against Caldwell, Cherryville, etc. I know they are 11-5, I think, and beat Rutherford on Sunday. John Hinson, their lead off hitter, is batting .758!

    What are the standings in Area IV?

    Yea they have a pretty good ball team. They split a double hitter with Caldwell last week

    Glad you asked Jer...

    Caldwell, Cherryville, and Rutherford are all tied in the loss column with 4losses.

    I know Caldwell's losses are to Asheville as part of a DH, Lake Norman as part of a DH (the second half got rained out and played the other night), Cherryville and Rutherford.

    Cherryville has lost to Caldwell, Burke, Henderson and Asheville.

    Rutherford has lost to Asheville twice and Cherryville twice.

    Nothing is really decided because Rutherford and Caldwell play at Rutherford on Sunday and Cherryville plays AT Henderson on Monday.

    As for the Eastern Division, all eight playoff contending teams are within 3 games of eachother and all the teams have 2 games to play this weekend....
