Area IV Playoff Pairings

recap of Huntersville vs. Cherryville?

When I left in the bottom of the 5th (I think) it was 4-0 Huntersville....finished 9-8 Cherryville. Can anyone recap the finish?

Sounds like two great, exciting series - Charlotte-Hickory and Huntersville-Cherryville - are underway.

Seems like Cherryville winning the series would be an upset with all the talk that they haven't been as strong as past years. But now coming home tonight with a 1-0 lead, they may have the advantage. Tough place to play, compounded by the heat. Sounds like defense could be a problem for Huntersville despite stellar high school and legion seasons. They do win a lot of games with their bats.

Great settings for the Charlotte-Hickory series. Should be a good matchup tonight. If Charlotte wins tonight though, it'll be extremely difficult to come back for Hickory. Charlotte appears to have good pitching depth.

Charlotte used 3 pitchers last night,as did Hickory. Haven't seen anyone overpowering yet. Could be another close one tonight...lots of hits in the first game...and Hickory had some uncharacteristic errors. I agree, though, if Charlotte wins tonight, it will be a tough road ahead for Hickory.

 

I'm not sure losing to Cherryville in the 2nd round of the playoffs is ever an "upset." Not as strong as past years for Cherryville means they can still beat alot of good teams 3 out of 5 times.

 

...it's irrelavant now since Monroe had to bow out.
