    Queen City Mustangs 6...Pineville 5

    Pineville 010 001 021...5...11...2
    Q. City.. 002 030 01x...6...10...2

Great game tonight at Jack Sink Field between two South Charlotte teams...very well played and tightly contested. The Mustangs plated two runs on a Bryce Bradley HR from the 9-hole and followed that with a 3-run 5th inning highlighted by a 2-run triple by Alex Jensen. The Pineville team hung tough and scored two in the 8th after two outs to pull within 2 runs, highlighted by doubles by Caleb Cunningham and Drew Davies. Those hits chased Mustang starter Ryan Weise, who threw very well for 7 2/3 innings. Patrick Langdon doubled in what proved to be a key insurance run in the bottom of the 8th inning for the Mustangs. In the 9th, Pineville advanced runners to second and third with two out and Conner Patterson singled to RF scoring the lead runner, but Mustang right fielder William Frazier gunned down the tying run at the plate to end the game.

QC: Bryce Bradley 2-3, HR, 2RBI
    QC: Eddie Hull 2-4, double

Queen City Mustangs 10...Gastonia Rebels 0

    Queen C. 202 420 0.....10...11..1
    G. Rebels 000 000 0......0....3...1

The Mustangs traveled to beautiful and historic Sims Park in Gastonia and come away with a 7 inning win by run rule. The Mustang bats were hot and many balls were blasted to the far reaches of the ballpark, with HRs by Alex Jensen and Tyler Powell. William Frazier allowed only two hits in six innings work...he has pitched 17 innings this season without allowing an earned run (one run allowed unearned). Lou Trosch pitched the 7th inning and preserved the shutout with some help from center fielder James Snover who gunned down a base runner at the plate to end the game.....the second straight game that ended with a throw out at the plate. Haven't been to Sims in awhile and it has been nicely renovated and polished up...great venue for an "old school feel" ballgame.

    Leading Hitters:

QC: Alex Jensen 2-3, HR, 2RBI
QC: Tyler Powell 2-5, HR, 4RBI
    QC: James Snover 1-2, double
    QC: Lee Harrison 1-3, double
    QC: Jackson Reisterer 1-3, double
    QC: Eddie Hull 2-5
    GR: Dillon Ferguson 2-4

Nice game tonight at Jack Sink Field as the Queen City Mustangs edged the Union County Post 535 team 9-7. The game was tight throughout and both teams were hitting the ball hard and advancing runners. The final margin was courtesy of a 2-run HR by Tyler Powell in the bottom of the 8th. Colin Manning also homered for Queen City and Alex Morales jacked a 3-run bomb in the first frame for Union County. Lou Trosch pitched two perfect innings to close it out and earn the victory.

It will be played at Walter Bickett Stadium in downtown Monroe. You should be able to google map it.

Game was called in the 5 due to the rain and storm that swept thru last night. Drew Reynolds was the winning pitcher.
