Wingate is a motel chain. There is one on S. Tryon St. Right behind Renissance Park.

Don't know if is true or not but I was told there were 15 breakins within a 2 hour period in broad daylight in the Ren. parking lot last year during a tournament. No idea what tournament or when it was, just what I was told.

Got it - still can't blame security at parks for breaking into a car at the hotel. Hard to blame ASA or Renaissance Park for that.

    Security...or lack there of....

.....at any park is unacceptable. I know for a fact that cars were broken into and one even stolen right out of the Ren. parking lot at a tourn. a few weeks ago. Mallard had signs to put in your car to ward off thieves! The Wingate and the Jock and Jills stuff was only showing that they too are in that neighborhood and are also subjected to the same thugs that are preying on Ren. My post is not intended to bash Charlotte or Cary or anywhere else. Its purpose is to point out the lack of security at Ren. , Mallard. And I do blame ASA and Ren. for not providing security just as I would blame them for not providing field maintenance, lights, umps, etc. What part of putting a "mirror hanger" telling thieves to not break into your car makes you feel safe?
