    good explaination on the balk calls BDC. I had to explain the throwing to an unoccupied base to put out a runner this weekend. The frustration is when umpires don't the know the rule and call it a balk and than another umpire who knows the rule doesn't call it a balk and it leaves fans, players, and coaches a bit confused.
